Been tinkering with local LLM setups on my machine since April. Ditched the API dependencies from the big players—Anthropic, OpenAI, and others. Running models locally gives you actual control and privacy. Just wrapped up a year of experimenting in 2025 and picked up some solid insights along the way. Here's what I figured out.

Running the model locally is something I've been thinking about for a while, but it's really resource-intensive... That GPU computing power is just not enough.

I've also considered running the model locally, and it is indeed satisfying... but the graphics card easily gets overwhelmed.

It should have been played this way all along; running the model locally is the right approach.

I've also tried running the model locally, but honestly, the hassle cost is a bit high. It's easier to just use the API directly.

Running models locally is really awesome, no longer restricted by big tech companies' API black boxes.
