South Korean President vetoes special prosecutor's law, investigation into whether Yoon Suk-yeol's couple intervened in parliamentary elections is blocked.
Jinshi Data News on March 14th, local time on the morning of the 14th, Cui Xiangmu, the acting president of South Korea, convened an interim national security meeting. At the meeting, Cui Xiangmu vetoed the special prosecutor’s law initiated by the South Korean National Assembly to investigate allegations that Yoon Seok-yue and his wife and political broker Myung Tai were involved in the election of South Korean National Assembly members. Cui Xiangmu stated that the contents of the special prosecutor’s law concerning the scope and targets of the investigation were not clear enough and there were suspicions of violating the constitution, thus vetoing the relevant bill. The largest opposition party in South Korea, the Minjoo Party of Korea, expressed dissatisfaction with Cui Xiangmu’s veto of the special prosecutor’s law. Park Chan-dae, the representative of the Minjoo Party of Korea in the National Assembly, stated that Cui Xiangmu’s actions proved that he himself was an ‘internal accomplice’ of Yoon Seok-yue’s martial law and vowed to hold Cui Xiangmu accountable for violating the constitution and laws.
