EigenLayer has released ELIP-002 proposal: Introducing penalty mechanism
BlockBeats news, on December 13th, EigenLayer released the second EigenLayer Improvement Proposal (ELIP-002) on social media: Slashing. This ELIP proposal introduces a slashing mechanism to the EigenLayer protocol to enhance the economic commitment of encryption and provide innovative tools for AVS (Active Verification Service) to reward high-quality service operators. The slashing mechanism in the proposal incorporates two new concepts proposed by Eigen Labs: Unique Stake and Operator Sets, allowing AVS to punish operators who fail to fulfill their commitments (such as calculation errors or liveness issues). Unique Stake ensures that each AVS has exclusive access to a specific punishability.
