The UNIFIL forces claim that the Israeli army fired at their posts, but the Israeli army says it is unaware of such an incident.

On October 26th, Jinshi Data News reported that on the evening of October 25th local time, the Israeli Defense Forces claimed that the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) accused the Israeli army of firing at peacekeepers stationed near the town of Deir el-Harir in southern Lebanon. The Israeli army was unaware of such an incident. Earlier that day, UNIFIL issued a statement saying that on the 22nd, peacekeepers at a checkpoint in Deir el-Harir in southern Lebanon found Israeli soldiers conducting a search operation near houses in the area. When the Israeli soldiers realized they were being observed, they opened fire at the UNIFIL checkpoint. In order to avoid being attacked, the peacekeepers chose to evacuate from the checkpoint.
