PANews reported on August 19th that, according to CoinDesk, Punch Nigeria stated that the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) of Nigeria plans to submit a bill to the parliament for approval to tax the cryptocurrency industry before September. Zacch Adedeji, the chairman of the tax authority, revealed the plan during a meeting with the Senate and House of Representatives' finance committees. Adedeji said, "Our plan is to first enact a law to regulate this behavior, which is why we are here with the legislature. The legislature will form the basis for the charges."
