Abstract generation in progress

Donald Trump announced on his Truth Social: “Those who oppose tariffs are fools! We are now the wealthiest and most respected country in the world, with inflation rates nearly at zero and the stock market hitting record highs. The 401k retirement account balance has also reached an all-time high. We earn trillions of dollars each year and will soon be able to start paying off our massive debt of up to 37 trillion dollars. America's investment levels have reached historic highs, and factories and businesses are springing up like mushrooms after rain.”

He further announced in this post that everyone will receive at least $2000 in dividends.

Treasurer Bessent explained: Universal cash distribution or implementation through tax cuts.

As soon as the news broke, the English-speaking community went wild. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent explained that the “at least $2,000 tariff bonus per person” concept mentioned by President Donald Trump could be implemented through the tax cut provisions in the economic policy bill he signed earlier this year.

Bessent stated that he has not yet discussed this directly with the president, but pointed out that this bonus could take various forms and appear in various ways, such as the tax cuts listed in Trump's policies, like tax-free tips, tax-free overtime pay, tax-free Social Security, and tax-deductible auto loans.

The timing of Trump's tariff dividend is sensitive. On November 5, the U.S. Supreme Court will begin deliberations on a lawsuit seeking to overturn Trump's tariffs. Several justices expressed doubts about the basis for the tariffs, and if the final ruling is unfavorable, it could force the government to refund over $100 billion and shake the economic foundation of Trump's second term. The focus of the related lawsuit includes the “Liberation Day Tariffs” announced by Trump on April 2, which impose tariffs ranging from 10% to 50% on most imported goods.

As for Trump emphasizing in social media posts that the United States is bringing in trillions of dollars in revenue and will begin to pay off $37 trillion in national debt. Bessent added, “In the coming years, we may indeed see trillions of dollars in revenue, but the real goal of tariffs is to rebalance and make trade fairer.”

Will the universal cash distribution in 2025 replicate the bull market trend that began in 2020?

The news caused Bitcoin to rise by 2% and Ethereum to rise by 4%. The last time the U.S. government issued cash payments was back in March 2020 under the CARES Act, during the COVID period. The act provided $1200 to each adult and $500 to each child. At the same time, the Fed also shifted towards monetary easing, leading to a frenzied bull market and DeFi Summer. It is important to note that the current progress of the proposed $2000 payments is still just talk from Trump.
