Lula and Trump had a phone call requesting the U.S. to revoke the 40% tariff on Brazil.

Jin10 data reported on October 6th that the Brazilian government announced on October 6th local time that Brazilian President Lula held a phone meeting with U.S. President Trump. During the conversation, Lula requested the U.S. to cancel the 40% tariff on Brazilian products, and Trump appointed Secretary of State Rubio to continue negotiations with Brazilian Vice President Alckmin. The Brazilian government also stated that Lula and Trump agreed to hold an in-person meeting as soon as possible, potentially in Malaysia. Both sides exchanged phone numbers to maintain direct communication.
