What has impacted me the most is how trading has refined my character.

Everyone who survives in the market understands: this is a contest between human nature and rules. Especially in futures, leverage amplifies every psychological fluctuation to the extreme. The same scenarios repeat, and in the end, you either break down or learn to stay calm.

Some call this state "numbness," but I disagree. For me, it’s true peace——no longer screaming at every rise and fall, no longer being hijacked by emotions, able to accept unexpected changes and grasp opportunities with certainty. This in itself is a form of cultivation.

As the market gradually becomes a familiar game, a solid confidence begins to grow. Don’t get it wrong; this confidence is not arrogance——quite the opposite, every surviving trader unavoidably holds a reverence for the market. This confidence is more like a stable feeling after long-term polishing and constant trial and error.

The greatest lesson in trading is: it allows you to see through yourself. What are your strengths, what are your weaknesses, what trading style truly suits your personality. Many people don’t make money not because they lack effort, but because they keep trying to find that "sure-win formula," copying others’ tricks wholeheartedly. Little do they realize, the key lesson can be summed up in three words——make peace with yourself.

Munger’s words I’ve always remembered: "Everyone is a prisoner of their own talent." In trading, releasing yourself also means reshaping yourself.
