How to Set Up a Ronin Wallet in 5 Easy Steps to Play Axie Infinity

Ronin is an Ethereum sidechain developed by Sky Mavis, the team behind popular Play-As-You-Earn game, Axie Infinity, as a solution for scaling NFT games.

Sky Mavis also developed the Ronin Wallet, a mobile and browser extension wallet for players to store their crypto assets and NFTs (including Axies).

With Ronin enabling low gas fees, the wallet has a bunch of uses including:

• Playing Axie and other games
• Interact with other dApps
• Send and receive cryptocurrencies
• Buy and transfer NFTs

Currently the following assets can be stored on your Ronin wallet:

• Wrapped Ether (WETH)
• Axie Infinity Shard (AXS)
• USDC
• Smooth Love Potion (SLP)

While the Ronin wallet is available both as a browser extension and an app, our guide is based on the extension verison, which is easier for a first-timer.

1. Add the Ronin Wallet

This is fairly straightforward, all you need to do is do a google search of Ronin Wallet and add the browser extension for your browser.

2. Open the Extension

Once you have added the wallet, you can click on the extension menu to open it where you will be redirected to the wallet’s setup page. It looks something like this:

You can then proceed to click on the button that says: I’m new let’s get set up!

3. Set up a Password

Like most other dapps, you will be required to set up an account with a password.

### 4. Get your Seed Phrase

To make the wallet even more secure, you will be provided with a seed phrase. This is a series of words generated by your cryptocurrency wallet that give you access to the crypto associated with that wallet.

You will need to uncover the phrase.

Like advised, you want to back up your seed phrase securely. You don’t want to lose it nor have someone steal it.

5. Enter your Seed Phrase

Once you confirm your seed phrase, you will be asked to enter atleast a section of the phrase.

Once that is done, you will have completed the set up of your wallet.

The Ronin wallet is non-custodial, meaning that no one can help you recover your funds if you lost your seed phrase.

How you backup your phrase is super important, and it is advised that you write it down and store it in 2 or more differentq locations.

With your account set up, that’s how your front page looks.

On the top, you can see the wallet name [Account #], followed by your Ronin Wallet address. You will need to provide the address when depositing or receiving assets.

The [Assets] section displays your current balance of ERC-20 tokens and ERC-721 NFT tokens.

To check your transaction history, click [Activities].

You now have your gateway into the Ronin sidechain.
