Newcomers trading contracts, the core of position management is only one rule: play with small amounts you can afford to lose, never go all-in, never add to a losing position to average down.
The safest position standard for beginners
1. Total position limit
Total opening margin ≤ 10% of total funds
Example: 1000U → Use up to 100U for opening positions
2. Leverage multiplier
• Beginners only open 3x–5x
• Above 10x generally offers little error tolerance for beginners and is not suitable for newcomers
3. Single-coin position
• One coin: margin ≤ 5% of total funds
• Hold positions in no more than 2 coins at the same time
How to calculate how much you can open (simple formula)
Using 1000U capital and 5x leverage as an example:
1. Maximum loss amount: 10U
2. Assume stop-loss range: 3%
3. Max position = 10 ÷ 3% ≈ 333U nominal position
4. 5x leverage → Margin = 333 ÷ 5 ≈ 66U
In other words:
With 1000U capital, the maximum margin for a single position is about 60–70U
