Especially when there's no time in the morning, having a good toaster really helps. Recently, I tried various popular toasters, so I’d like to introduce a few models that caught my personal interest.
The first one that caught my eye is Panasonic’s premium oven toaster. It can toast two slices simultaneously and features 15 automatic menus, making it versatile for more than just toast. When I actually tried it, the outside was crispy and the inside was fluffy. The browning was almost even, and it heats up to the right temperature in just a minute, which is impressive. It costs around 25,990 yen, but since it’s something used daily, it seems worth the investment.
Zojirushi’s model also has a good reputation. It’s priced around 13,000 yen, making it accessible. The texture of the toast is crispy on the outside and chewy inside, with a nice aroma. However, it takes a little longer to finish, so be careful if you’re in a hurry in the morning.
The Twinbird Takumi Boulanger Toaster is attractive because it can toast to a color in just one minute. It’s a high-end model at 22,580 yen, but perfect for those who prioritize time-saving. It toasts evenly on both sides, and if you mainly eat bread, it’s satisfying enough.
Muji’s steam plate model is affordable at 4,990 yen. The steam function creates the ideal texture—crispy outside and moist inside. The temperature can be adjusted broadly from 80°C to 230°C, making it useful for more than just toast.
Iris Ohyama’s mirror finish model is also budget-friendly at 4,280 yen. It uses four heaters to toast quickly, capable of handling four slices at once, which is convenient for larger families. It also toasts the crust thoroughly, resulting in crispy bread.
Balmuda’s The Toaster is a high-end model priced at 22,000 yen. It uses unique steam technology to keep moisture while toasting, resulting in crispy exteriors and chewy interiors. The browning is also beautifully done.
The Aladdin Graphite Series can reach high temperatures of 280°C and toasts up to four slices at once. Its high precision ensures even toasting from edge to edge on both sides. Priced at 17,898 yen, it offers excellent features among luxury toasters.
Toshiba offers two models priced at 4,780 yen and 8,822 yen. Both are compact but capable of producing fluffy toast. They are easy to clean and suitable for daily use.
Shiroca’s Subayaki Toaster costs 19,800 yen. Its proprietary Flame Techno technology allows it to heat up quickly at high temperatures, making morning prep smooth. The temperature can be finely adjusted, making it versatile for various cooking needs.
Ultimately, choosing a daily-use toaster depends on texture and ease of maintenance. High-end models are feature-rich, but it’s okay to choose based on your budget. Finding one that fits your lifestyle is the most important.
