According to Foresight News, the Polygon community has published Proposal PIP-85. It proposes changes to the distribution formula for priority fees in PIP-65 by introducing an equal-weight factor for validators and setting a distribution share for stakers. From the validator pool, 50% will be allocated to stakers through a periodic Merkle claim process deployed on Ethereum. The remaining portion of the validator pool will then be redistributed as follows: 75%—according to a revised system with equal weight and performance consideration, and 25%—based on the existing staking weighting formula.
Sandeep Nailwal, CEO of Polygon Foundation, commented: "This proposal is a reliable path aimed at fairly rewarding all network participants: stakers will be able to earn income directly from fees, and the validator group will remain healthy and motivated."
