Volkswagen officially announces layoffs of 50,000 people, with profits dropping to the lowest level in ten years.


Europe's largest automaker announced today that to avoid a total financial collapse, it will cut approximately 17% of its German workforce by 2030.
Due to hits from all sides, the company's profits plummeted by 44% last year.
