According to the latest reports, U.S. President Donald Trump made statements regarding cryptocurrencies. Trump stated:
The U.S. needs to complete its cryptocurrency market structure legislation as soon as possible. The crypto agenda must be protected; otherwise, the sector could shift to China and other countries.
He also mentioned that banks should come to an agreement with the crypto industry.
The CLARITY Act decision has exceeded the White House’s March 1 deadline; however, sources close to the negotiations say talks are not collapsed. Polymarket prices a 72% chance that the law will be signed in 2026.
In a statement on the Truth Social platform, Trump said that banks are also threatening the GENIUS Act and trying to weaken the crypto agenda. Trump emphasized that this is unacceptable and stated that the administration is determined to protect the crypto sector.
Trump noted that the GENIUS Act is the first major step toward making the U.S. the “world’s crypto capital,” and that the CLARITY Act is a critical next step to complete this process.
