Lightweight story time.
Sometimes I feel lost in the never-ending grind to improve my family’s life. Grinding, reading, researching, investing - winning some, losing some.
Often I push too far, too long without a break. I get tired, sad, sometimes even drained and depressed.
Nothing special , everyone goes through these times.
I have plenty of pros and cons, but one thing I truly appreciate: there are so many tiny, seemingly meaningless things in life, and I can find great joy in them.
A few months ago I ordered a $7 pocket knife. When it arrived, it was basically broken. I wasn’t expecting much, but I was still a bit bummed.
A couple of days ago I ordered a slightly more expensive - but still budget - tiny folding knife. (Yes, I like these little knives. I’m a man with a boy’s mental age.) I was already prepared for another dud.
To my surprise, the one that arrived is amazing quality: pristine, perfectly polished and aligned. Very tiny and flat - slips easily into a pocket or onto a belt for hiking and camping. The blade is small but perfect for cutting cardboard, duct tape, or an apple.
It was a happy day, so I thought I’d share. I still pick it up and hold it in my hand once in a while while working on Pampx, SleuthX or writing some news.
