Several lithium mining companies expect Zimbabwe's lithium exports to resume within a month.
The Zimbabwe Ministry of Mines recently announced a suspension of all raw mineral and lithium concentrate exports (including in-transit goods). According to reports from Cailian Press, Zhongkuang Resources and Yahua Group, the export ban on Zimbabwe lithium is a temporary measure, and exports are expected to resume within 1 to 4 weeks. Currently, the companies have sufficient raw material inventories, so the impact on production and operations is limited.
A person from Yahua Group’s Securities Department stated that companies with mining rights and beneficiation plants can apply for export after submitting additional materials. The company is already preparing to submit these materials. Zhongkuang Resources mentioned that new approval procedures will be introduced soon, and the ban is expected to last less than a month, depending on the approval process.
