Has Trump gone completely crazy with tariffs?

US President Donald #TRUMP said on Saturday that he would raise from 10% to 15% a temporary tariff rate on imports into the US from all countries, which he imposed after the US Supreme Court ruled against his tariff program based on the economic emergency law.

On Friday, the Supreme Court invalidated tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. But within hours, Trump signed an executive order imposing a 10 percent global tariff under a different legal basis, while maintaining existing sectoral tariffs.

European leaders reacted with cautious relief to the court’s ruling, while warning that trade uncertainty is likely to persist. The European Commission called for stability in transatlantic trade relations.
