Tesla is reportedly building factories in multiple states in the U.S. to expand its solar cell manufacturing footprint.

According to sources familiar with the matter, Tesla is evaluating multiple sites in the United States with plans to expand its solar cell manufacturing business, aiming to achieve an annual solar manufacturing capacity of 100 gigawatts within the next three years.

Sources also added that Tesla plans to increase the Buffalo, New York factory capacity to 10 gigawatts and may build a second factory in New York State. Arizona and Idaho are also on the shortlist.
