According to CCTV International News, the Ukrainian National News Agency reported on February 7th that Ukrainian President Zelensky stated that the United States hopes to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict before this summer. The US proposed holding a meeting of the Ukrainian and Russian negotiation teams in Miami, and Ukraine has confirmed its participation.

Additionally, according to Xinhua News Agency, Ukrainian President Zelensky said on the 7th that on that day, Russian forces launched a new round of airstrikes against Ukraine using over 400 drones and nearly 40 missiles, and rescue and repair work is underway. He stated that Ukraine urgently needs air defense missiles.

Zelensky posted on social media that Russia could have chosen “genuine diplomatic means,” but instead launched new attacks. The main targets of the Russian airstrikes are Ukraine’s power grid, power generation facilities, and distribution stations. Related facilities in western Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Lviv regions were damaged. Attacks also occurred in Vinnytsia, Kharkiv, and Kyiv regions. Air defense operations are still ongoing in some areas.

The Ukrainian Air Force posted on social media on the morning of the 7th that from the evening of the 6th to the early morning of the 7th, Russian forces launched a large-scale airstrike on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure using 39 missiles, including two “Zircon” hypersonic missiles, and 408 drones. The Ukrainian National Power Company and Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Shmyhal previously stated that Russia launched a new round of large-scale attacks on Ukraine’s energy facilities that day. Emergency rolling blackouts are being implemented nationwide.
