Hong Kong Stock Market Closing: Hang Seng Tech Index down 1.11%, Hang Seng Index down 1.21%
Hong Kong stocks closed lower, with the Hang Seng Tech Index down 1.11% and the Hang Seng Index down 1.21%. The Hang Seng Hong Kong Stock Connect ETF Yinhua (159318) fell 0.78%, and the Hong Kong Stock Connect Technology ETF Penghua (159751) declined 0.2%. In terms of sectors, construction products and communication equipment led the gains; hotel and resort REITs and biotechnology sectors saw the largest declines. Among individual stocks, Southern Communications surged over 61%; Huazhu Group-S rose 4.31%; Western Cement dropped 8.8%, MIRXES-B fell 15.05%; Weilun Group increased 11.03%, and NuoCheng Jianhua rose 8.45%.
