Industrial production in the Czech Republic rose by 3.8% year-on-year in December 2025, surpassing market expectations of 3.2% albeit slowing from a more than three-year high of 5.7% in the previous month. Output growth slowed in manufacturing (4.5% vs 6.4% in November), particularly in the manufacture of food products, manufacture of beverages, manufacture of wearing apparel, manufacture of leather and related products, and manufacture of basic metals. Moreover, output tumbled for electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (-2.6% vs 2.6%). Meanwhile, output in mining and quarrying rebounded notably to 6.3% from a 12.8% decline in November. On a monthly basis, industrial activity slowed sharply to 0.4% in December from 2.4% in the prior month.
