Short selling crypto stocks while BTC searches for a bottom
Those calling for Bitcoin's recovery have been praying for the CME gap around $84K, while the “4-year cycle breaker” suggests we just need to wait a little longer — for example, until the CLARITY bill is passed.
In fact, until BTC recovers $88K and $102K, this remains a bear market.
Shorting the crypto market itself is too risky due to high volatility. But stocks related to crypto tend to move much more smoothly and are easier to predict.
▪️ Strategy — based on strong support levels in 2024, they have cash and will not sell BTC. But a dip below the average purchase price of ($76K) could trigger a new wave of selling.
▪️ Coinbase — almost mirrors Bitcoin. BTC at $70K or lower, and the pain will be very severe.
▪️ Bitmine — ETH is dropping faster than BTC, staking doesn’t help. There’s still a lot of downside potential, even enough to wipe out all gains since the ETH reserve was launched.
Currently, Bitmine has staked 55% of the ETH purchased to show confidence. But by doing so, they’ve also limited their own exit options.
