Ondo Finance has officially introduced tokenized assets exceeding 200 U.S. blue-chip stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) onto the Solana network. This expansion demonstrates Ondo’s intention to extend its ‘Ondo Global Markets’ platform beyond Ethereum and BNB chains, further expanding the blockchain ecosystem.

Expanding the RWA Market into the Solana Ecosystem

Recently, the market for tokenized real-world assets (RWA) has experienced rapid growth, leading to a significant increase in companies seeking to bring traditional financial products onto the blockchain. In response to this market demand, Ondo has decided to leverage Solana’s high processing speed and low transaction costs as technical advantages.

Ian De Bode, CEO of Ondo, explained in an interview, “Considering Solana’s scale and performance, this expansion is a natural next step.” He also added, “We have seen initial on-chain demand signals for stock tokens on Solana, but we recognize that the current version of tokenized stocks still has limitations in liquidity depth and asset selection.”

Combining Traditional Financial Liquidity with On-Chain Technology

With this integration, Solana users will be able to directly access stocks of large companies across various sectors, including tech, growth, and U.S. blue-chip stocks. Additionally, a wide range of market index ETFs and commodity-linked products are now tradable within the on-chain environment.

De Bode stated, “We are pleased to introduce hundreds of on-chain stocks with sufficient trading volume originating from Wall Street into Solana’s vibrant ecosystem.” He explained how Ondo’s tokenized stocks address existing issues, emphasizing that by transferring the deep liquidity of traditional exchanges onto the blockchain, users can enjoy a better trading environment and broader asset choices simultaneously.

Improving U.S. Stock Accessibility and Market Impact

This launch on Solana further enhances Ondo’s role. According to the company, Ondo has now become the largest issuer of real-world assets within the Solana network based on asset count. This exemplifies how quickly the RWA sector is maturing within the cryptocurrency market.

Ondo highlights that this expansion significantly increases access to traditional financial assets while maintaining price parity with traditional markets through on-chain infrastructure. Since all transactions and searches are supported via existing Solana infrastructure, user convenience is also considered sufficient.

Blockchain-Specific Strategies and Market Outlook

Since Ondo first launched ‘Ondo Global Markets’ on Ethereum last year and gradually expanded to multiple blockchains, it reflects a growing interest in tokenized securities among both crypto-native users and institutional investors. This multi-layered strategy tailored to each blockchain’s characteristics and user base is expected to further strengthen Ondo’s market dominance.

Currently, the ONDO token is trading at around $0.29, and each network expansion by the company has shown a trend of increasing token value and platform dependency. The expansion of tokenized assets based on U.S. blue-chip stocks is likely to promote future institutional capital inflows, and Ondo Finance’s strategic expansion signals overall growth in the RWA market.
