In early 2026, the blockchain industry ushered in a significant development—the DuskEVM mainnet officially launched in the second week of January. As a Layer 1 public chain focused on privacy protection and compliant finance, Dusk has been dedicated to technical accumulation since its establishment in 2018. The mainnet launch marks a new stage in its development.
This public chain features distinct characteristics: it can protect sensitive business data for institutions while meeting global regulatory framework requirements. Its core technical architecture includes modular design, built-in zero-knowledge proofs, and homomorphic encryption, enabling on-chain transactions to achieve the dual attributes of "privacy controllability and full auditability." For traditional financial participants such as banks, asset management firms, and exchanges, they can hide commercially sensitive information while opening audit permissions to regulators as needed—addressing one of the most critical concerns for traditional financial institutions entering the on-chain world.
The launch of the DuskEVM mainnet lowers the access barrier. Fully compatible with the EVM standard, developers can deploy applications directly using the common Solidity programming language. All contracts automatically run on Dusk's Layer 1, providing out-of-the-box privacy compliance capabilities. With the cooperation of the Hedger protocol, transactions within the EVM environment also support selective disclosure—users can flexibly control which data is public and which is hidden.
From compliant DeFi to the RWA (Real-World Asset on-chain) track, Dusk offers a new technical pathway. Compared to other solutions, it avoids the dilemma of "privacy overreach leading to regulatory difficulties" or "compliance compromising privacy features," instead finding a balance between the two.
