Seeing new projects and jumping in right away—this approach has long needed to change.

When choosing projects, consider this: does the developer have a certain industry recognition? How is the quality of their GitHub code? Can the project itself stand on its own? How is community support? If these conditions are not quite met, there's no need to rashly participate even if the hype is high. Instead of being curious, it's better to invest real money in projects with strong backing and transparent teams. Of course, leading projects and well-known public chain ecosystem tokens are always relatively safer choices.

This developer already has some notoriety, their code repositories perform well, and what they are working on recently is quite interesting. Supporting innovative builders with ideas is never a bad thing.

But remember: always do your own research (DYOR). No one can bear the risks for you.

honestly the incentive structures here are just... sub-optimal at best. like yeah dyor and all that, but historical precedent suggests most people won't actually do the legwork anyway. the path dependency on hype cycles is non-trivial, ngl

DYOR is right, but when it comes to actually taking action, most people, including myself, still get carried away haha

That's right, those chasing the hype are all rookies. I do think this developer actually has some skills; the code isn't superficial.

Well said, but most people, upon seeing positive news, are already brain-dead and don't bother to look at the code anymore.

Well said, but what about reality? A bunch of people see influencers sharing and immediately throw money in, and you all know how the story ends.

That's right, you need to look clearly and not just go all-in based on stories.

That's right, too many people are FOMOing now, rushing in just because of the hype. I've seen too many lose everything.

Exactly, you're so right. The guys around me who blindly jumped in are now cutting losses and regretting it. To be honest, having developers with strong backing definitely makes me feel more at ease. I usually glance at the code quality on GitHub, and I can tell at a glance if it's a trash project. However, I have been following this project, and the team's transparency is indeed good, worth keeping an eye on. DYOR (Do Your Own Research) is really well said; risk is on you, and you can't blame others.
