Felix partners with Ondo to launch on-chain stock trading, with the first batch of 100+ US stocks now available

DeFi platform Felix Protocol partners with Ondo Finance to launch spot stock trading features on Hyperliquid’s HyperEVM ecosystem. This collaboration is realized through Ondo Global Markets, initially launching over 100 U.S. stocks, with plans to expand to more than 1,000 stocks in the coming months.

Core Advantages of the Partnership

Liquidity is the key breakthrough

The biggest challenge faced by traditional on-chain trading is insufficient liquidity. The Felix team emphasizes that through integration with Ondo, these stock markets can achieve deep liquidity from day one without relying on automated market maker(AMM) models. This means:

  • Support for large orders in the millions of dollars
  • Trading experience closer to traditional financial markets
  • Users don’t need to worry about excessive slippage

Why is this important

Ondo Finance has accumulated experience in RWA( Real-World Asset Tokenization). This partnership introduces its asset custody and liquidity infrastructure into the stock trading scenario. This is not just simple token trading, but real stock trading rights on the chain.

Market Scale Ambitions

Dimension Current Plan Timeline
Number of stocks 100+ 1000+ In the coming months
Market U.S. stocks To be expanded Ongoing

The plan to expand from 100 to 1,000 stocks reflects the project team’s confidence in market demand. This number is close to the total number of companies listed on NASDAQ, indicating that their goal is not a niche product but a genuine on-chain stock trading infrastructure.

What does this mean

Significance for the DeFi ecosystem: This marks another deepening of DeFi into the RWA field. Previously, on-chain trading mainly involved virtual assets; now it begins to carry real assets, broadening the application boundaries of blockchain.

Significance for the HyperEVM ecosystem: Hyperliquid is seeking high-value application scenarios, and stock trading is a clear high-demand area. Felix’s involvement enriches the ecosystem applications and helps increase chain activity.

Personal opinion: The success of such collaborations depends on compliance and liquidity. Ondo has experience in compliance, and liquidity issues are addressed through deep integration, making it more feasible than previous attempts.

Summary

Felix’s partnership with Ondo signifies that on-chain stock trading is moving from concept to practice. The launch of the first 100+ U.S. stocks and the plan to expand to over 1,000 demonstrate that this is not a small-scale effort. Solving liquidity issues, bringing real assets on-chain, and supporting the HyperEVM ecosystem—all these elements together open new possibilities for on-chain stock trading. The next focus is whether this product can truly attract traditional financial users and when the plan to expand to 1,000+ stocks will be realized.
