The Trump family’s crypto project, World Liberty Financial, is applying for a banking license. Its new entity, “World Liberty Trust Co.,” submitted the application on January 5, aiming to promote mainstream adoption of the USD1 stablecoin.

PANews reported on January 16 that, according to Bloomberg, the Trump family’s crypto project, World Liberty Financial, is seeking a banking license. Its new entity, “World Liberty Trust Co.,” submitted the application on January 5. According to the application documents, the company’s current Chief Financial Officer position is “to be determined,” but sources familiar with the matter say they plan to fill the role soon.

If approved, the license will allow World Liberty Trust Co. to exercise banking functions in specific ways, including asset protection, which is part of the company’s goal to promote the mainstream adoption of its USD1 stablecoin.
