If you are a beneficiary of the Mexican Social Security Institute, you need to know that the proof of rights validity is an essential document that verifies your current status with the institution and confirms your access to medical services. The best part is that you no longer need to go to your clinic to obtain it.

Two options to manage your certificate from anywhere

Option 1: Through your smartphone

The most accessible way is to use IMSS Digital, available on Google Play and iOS. The process is straightforward: install the app, enter your CURP and a valid email address. Once inside, look for the Rights Validity section where you can review your current status regarding medical services. If everything is in order, select Send to your email and you’re done.

Option 2: From your web browser

Prefer not to install apps? Access the IMSS digital platform and fill out the form with your CURP, social security number (NSS), and email address. The system will process your request and you will receive the certificate directly in your inbox.

What you need to know about this process

Both you and a third party can request the rights validity certificate as long as they have your NSS and an email to receive the document. The service is completely free, but there is an important detail: the validity of the document is only for the day it is issued, so if you need to present it later, you will have to generate a new version. This ensures that any procedure carried out with it contains updated and official information.
