Did the entire Zcash team leave Bootstrap to start from scratch? Is it due to disagreements within the board or a strategic shift?
【Crypto World】Privacy coin Zcash’s supporting team Electric Coin Company has made a major move—the entire team has officially separated from the non-profit organization Bootstrap and is preparing to establish a new independent company. The reasons behind this move are quite noteworthy.
According to CEO Josh Swihart, the separation mainly stems from two core issues. First is a difference in理念—most members of the Bootstrap board of directors have a clear deviation from Zcash’s mission and理念; second is operational resistance, as the original employment terms were modified, preventing the team from fully and effectively fulfilling their responsibilities in actual work. It appears that this is not an impulsive decision but the result of long-term accumulated problems leading to this separation.
The good news is that this team separation has limited impact on the Zcash protocol itself. The underlying network of Zcash will remain unaffected and continue to operate normally as scheduled. However, this organizational change naturally draws community attention to the future direction and specific plans of Electric Coin Company.
