Seeing Sei collaborate with Xiaomi, they say that in the future, besides Xiaomi smartphones in mainland China and the US, the Sei Wallet app will be installed, and offline Xiaomi stores will also support payments with Sei USDC.
It seems Xiaomi isn't doing blockchain collaborations for the first time:
- In 2017, they launched Mi Ad Data Chain, a blockchain platform for advertising and data collaboration.
- In 2018, they created Xiaomi WiFi Chain (early concept of DePIN?), where mining Xiaomi grains could be exchanged for purchasing Xiaomi new products and participating in the Crypto Rabbit pet game.
- In 2021, Xiaomi's offline stores in Portugal partnered with Utrust, allowing payments with BTC, ETH, USDT, DASH, and Utrust for Xiaomi products.
- In 2022, they launched Puffverse @Puffverse, but it was developed by Xiaomi employees themselves.
Xiaomi WiFi Chain was very cool; it was taken down after being reported by the Beijing Municipal Communications Administration.
Anyway, $Sei didn't succeed, and no one believes this story.
