ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood shared an interesting observation: the famous 4-year cycle narrative in crypto markets may no longer be valid.
According to Wood, Bitcoin used to experience sharp declines of 75-90% after each cycle. But it seems those days are behind us. As the market matures, these dramatic levels of volatility are decreasing.
This actually makes sense—as institutional investors enter the space, spot ETFs get approved, and regulations become clearer, Bitcoin’s price movements are also becoming more predictable.
Of course, this “cycle breakdown” might be disappointing for some, but it’s a positive sign in terms of long-term adoption.

But to be fair, institutional entry has really changed the game. The kind of wild volatility we used to see is indeed much less common now.

lol cathie finally waking up to what we've been saying for years... institutional money doesn't do 90% dumps, it's just not in their playbook. the 4yr cycle cope is basically dead weight now tbh

Did Cathie Wood say the 4-year cycle is dead? That's hilarious. She'll have to come out and change her tune again after the next crash.

Hmm... so the cycle theory has collapsed? According to this logic, doesn’t it mean the coins I’ve been holding are basically doomed? LOL crying

In other words, with institutions coming in, volatility is really decreasing, and is the 4-year cycle really coming to an end? But on the other hand, those who made quick money by speculating on cycles are definitely getting anxious, haha.
