[CryptoWorld] The Ethereum ecosystem in November has seen some explosive growth. According to on-chain monitoring by GrowThePie, the total network TPS of Ethereum has set a historical record - peaking directly at 32,950 transactions/second.
What does this number mean? It should be noted that the mainnet of Ethereum is not really fast; what can actually handle the traffic are the L2 networks. Data shows that there is a Layer2 project called Lighter, which has accounted for about 90% of the average daily TPS of the entire L2 ecosystem of Ethereum. Even crazier, the cost it pays to the mainnet of Ethereum each day is only 685 dollars - using vegetable prices to maintain the traffic ceiling of the entire ecosystem.
This really aligns with the design intent of L2: moving computation off-chain and only bundling the final results on-chain for settlement. However, a project that captures up to nine percent of market share, this level of concentration raises some curiosity about what its actual business context is.
