🇹🇭 Thailand is preparing to launch TouristDigiPay, a sandbox program allowing foreign visitors to convert crypto into Thai Baht and make payments via licensed e-money providers.
Users must complete KYC, open accounts with regulated digital asset businesses and e-wallet providers under the Bank of Thailand and SEC. The system will include monthly spending limits and block direct cash withdrawals to manage risks.
This move aims to boost tourism, especially as Chinese arrivals dropped 34% in H1 2025. Officials hope crypto will enhance visitor experiences and help Thailand stay competitive with Japan and Vietnam.
