- Basic Information: Born in 1978 in Greece, he is a Greek-American computer scientist with a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University, and also holds an MS&E Master's from Stanford University, a Master's in Computer Science from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Crete.
- Academic Research: He is a Professor of Computer Science and Decentralized Applications at Stanford University, with research areas covering distributed systems, cryptography, and blockchain protocol design, and has published numerous scientific papers in various cutting-edge fields such as blockchain, cryptography, and distributed computing.
- Professional Experience: Former Chief Technology Officer of StartX, guiding over 1300 startups. He also co-founded Callinica, a health tech company providing mobile solutions for doctors and healthcare professionals. Additionally, he developed a social application with over 20 million users.
- Major Achievements: Participated in the early Bitcoin protocol optimization project in 2010, proposing the "lightweight node validation algorithm." In 2018, led the development of the "Stellar Consensus Protocol," which was recognized by CoinDesk as one of the "Top 10 Blockchain Technology Innovations of the Decade." In 2019, led a team to launch a digital token network, attracting over 60 million users within three years. He also founded the Yola gaming platform and authored pioneering papers on Ethereum network smart contracts.
