BlockBeats news, on November 13th, Linea Association was established by zkEVM, an Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM) zero-knowledge layer 2 (L2) Rollup developed by Consensys, to further promote Decentralization. Linea Association is a non-profit organization headquartered in Switzerland, aiming to support the growth and governance of Linea. The association was officially announced on November 13th at the Devcon conference in Bangkok, Thailand. The newly established association will have three main goals: supporting Linear technology, developing the Linea market, and further advancing the Decentralization roadmap of Linea, according to Declan Fox, the product manager of Linea. Joseph Lubin, the founder of Consensys and a contributor to Ethereum, believes that Linea Association is an important step towards achieving true Decentralization of the network, avoiding excessive control by any governance entity. The association will oversee the development and governance of Linea's open-source technology and ecosystem, and promote the growth of Linea Layer 1 Mainnet supported by Consensys' zkEVM, expanding Ethereum while maintaining its security and Decentralization features. One of the core features of Linea Association's operation is Tokenholder governance, which means that Linea Token will be issued in the first quarter of 2025. According to the plan, the association will be able to provide governance rights to Tokenholders, allowing them to participate in certain activities of the association. The association will be responsible for managing the core Linea intellectual property and treasury to support its mission. (Cointelegraph)
