On July 18, encryption reporter Eleanor Terrett disclosed, "A House Democrat who is helping to garner support for the encryption bill just told me that if all goes well, approximately 35 Democrats are expected to support the CLARITY Act this afternoon, which is anticipated to be submitted for a vote around 4 PM. He said that the GENIUS Act could see 70 to 80 Democrats voting in favor."
