MiniPay, a non-custodial stablecoin wallet provider, has introduced new payment features aimed at freelancers worldwide. The update enables users to share virtual bank account details with clients, allowing them to receive payments in U.S. dollars and euros. Once funds are received, they are automatically converted into stablecoins such as USDT and USDC, giving users instant access to digital assets.

Spending and Withdrawals Made Easier

The converted funds can be spent directly through the MiniPay wallet for everyday purchases or withdrawn to mobile money services and traditional bank accounts. The new functionality is powered by a collaboration with financial infrastructure firm Noah, as MiniPay seeks to eliminate the friction often associated with international transactions.

“People want to get paid like a local—without the maze of cross-border fees and delays,” said Murray Spark, MiniPay’s head of commercial, in a statement shared with Decrypt.

Supporting a Growing Freelance Economy

Built on the Ethereum Layer-2 blockchain Celo, MiniPay’s platform targets the rapidly expanding global freelance economy. The company highlighted research showing Africa’s freelance tech market could surge from $7.3 billion in 2024 to $37.7 billion by 2034. India, meanwhile, represents 26% of the global online labor supply, with an estimated 15 million freelancers.

A Bridge Between Banks and Digital Assets

Noah CEO Shah Ramezani described the collaboration as a step toward merging traditional finance with the digital asset ecosystem. “Money shouldn’t live on separate rails,” he said. “By powering real-time interoperability between bank networks and digital assets, this partnership with MiniPay removes that divide—making global payments feel instant, connected, and built for the modern economy.”

Expanding Reach and Accessibility

MiniPay announced that virtual bank transfers will be free in most regions, with no hidden fees. However, specific deposit limits, fees, and withdrawal methods will depend on local market conditions. The new features will first be available to users on a waitlist in the coming weeks.

Since its 2023 launch, MiniPay claims to have activated over 10 million wallets across 60 countries, linking each account to a user’s phone number.
