Jasmy Chain Testnet Launches With Arb Orbit Integration
Jasmy Chain Testnet Officially Goes Live
Jasmy Lab Inc., officially launched the testnet for Jasmy Chain, its Ethereum Layer2 network. The new release follows the rebranding and technical overhaul of the earlier “JANCTION Layer2.”
Unlike the initial plan that relied on the OP Stack (Optimistic Rollup), Jasmy Chain now uses Arb Orbit, a framework based on Arbitrum Nitro. The testnet also introduces a key change: the JASMY token will be used as the native gas token, integrating the company’s ecosystem directly into its transaction model.
With this upgrade, Jasmy Chain establishes itself as an EVM-compatible Layer2 blockchain, designed to deliver low-cost, high-speed execution for applications in AI, DeFi, NFTs, and media processing.
Why Arb Orbit Matters
Arb Orbit, developed within the Arbitrum ecosystem, provides developers with more control over how they design Layer2 chains.
Key features include:
This makes Jasmy Chain a more adaptable and developer-friendly environment than the earlier OP Stack version.
JASMY as the Gas Token
A major update in the Jasmy Chain testnet is the adoption of JASMY as the gas token.
This design helps integrate JASMY into practical blockchain use cases, beyond exchange trading.
Developer Tools and Compatibility
Jasmy Chain’s infrastructure is built on Arbitrum Nitro, ensuring developers benefit from scalability without sacrificing compatibility.
Key developer-oriented features:
These features reduce the friction for developers moving from Ethereum or other Layer2s.
Testnet Features Available Now
At the testnet stage, Jasmy Chain already offers core features and integrations for developers and early adopters.
Alongside infrastructure, Jasmy Lab has launched proof-of-concept (PoC) collaborations with projects across DeFi, NFTs, AI, and media processing to test performance and fee models.
Jasmy’s Dual-Chain Strategy
Jasmy Lab is pursuing a dual-chain model, combining a Layer2 (Jasmy Chain) with a dedicated Layer1.
This structure reflects Jasmy’s goal of connecting blockchain networks with GPU cloud computing infrastructure.
Ecosystem Expansion Plans
The launch of the testnet is accompanied by ecosystem initiatives aimed at users, developers, and enterprises.
For users:
For partners:
These efforts are intended to accelerate adoption and real-world usage of Jasmy Chain.
“Jasmy Chain is our challenge to present a truly usable blockchain from Japan to the world, with JASMY at its core,” Hiroshi Harada, CEO of Jasmy Lab, said. “By leveraging Arb Orbit’s flexibility and EVM compatibility, we aim to deliver a network that is developer-friendly and user-centric.”
He added that integrating JASMY directly into the ecosystem creates new on-chain reward models, expanding beyond trading into actual blockchain use cases.
Background: JANCTION’s Role
Jasmy Chain originates from the JANCTION Layer2 project, which earlier operated with the OP Stack. JANCTION was backed by seed funding from major Web3 investors, including Cogitent Ventures, DWF Labs, MH Ventures, YBB, Waterdrip Capital, and Web3Labs.
The funds were used to develop JANCTION Layer2 and the JANCTION GPU Pool, while also supporting marketing and global outreach.
The GPU Pool remains part of Jasmy’s broader strategy, allowing decentralized allocation of high-performance GPUs for AI and other workloads.
Conclusion
The Jasmy Chain testnet introduces a Layer2 blockchain built on Arb Orbit, with JASMY as its gas token and full EVM compatibility. The design emphasizes scalability, developer accessibility, and direct integration of the JASMY ecosystem.
Key takeaways:
With the testnet now live, Jasmy Chain provides a functional environment for testing real-world applications in AI, DeFi, NFTs, and media services.
