The wealthiest top 20% in the United States now hold approximately 49.1 trillion dollars in stocks and funds, accounting for about 87% of the total.

In comparison, the middle 40% hold only 5.9 trillion dollars, and the bottom 40% hold even less at just 1.5 trillion dollars.

Since the pandemic in 2020, the stock assets of the top 20% have increased by 29.8 trillion dollars, representing a 154% increase.

Meanwhile, the remaining 80% of people have collectively gained only 4.2 trillion dollars.

In other words, the top 20% earned more than 6 times as much as the remaining 80% combined.

Simply put, those with assets are getting richer and richer, while those without assets have barely benefited at all.
