On April 7, the New York Times reported that Argentine Prime Minister Milei had spoken on the phone with the head of the now-collapsed LIBRA cryptocurrency project. An investigation revealed that President Milei had engaged in seven calls with a key figure of the LIBRA token project, which ultimately ended in scandal. These calls occurred around the time Milei announced his support for the token. Milei has denied any wrongdoing.
