On the evening of the 27th local time, a statement was issued by a security official and spokesperson of the Iraqi Shiite armed group “Liwa al-Haq,” announcing an extension of the suspension of attacks against the U.S. Embassy in Iraq for 5 days.

According to a statement released that evening by the Security Media Center under the Iraqi Joint Operations Command, the United States and Iraq agreed at a coordination meeting to “strengthen cooperation” in order to address the continuously escalating situation in the Middle East.

The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad said the two sides will work together to prevent terrorist attacks and ensure that Iraqi territory is not used to launch attacks against the United States, U.S. personnel, or its global partners. (CCTV reporter Mi Chunze, Zhang Yingzhe)
