Since 2026, passenger flow at the Shanghai port of entry and exit has continued to rise steadily. According to statistics from the Shanghai Border Inspection General Station, as of 9:00 on March 28, the Shanghai border inspection authorities have cumulatively inspected and verified inbound and outbound personnel exceeding 10 million person-times, up 2.9% year over year. Passenger traffic between inbound and outbound at the Shanghai port is showing a hot “mutual pursuit” dynamic. Among them, about 5.06M person-times exited, and about 4.95M person-times entered, representing year-over-year increases of 2.6% and 3.3%, respectively. As the “gold content” of Chinese passports continues to rise, residents in Mainland China have grown increasingly enthusiastic about traveling across borders. Since the beginning of this year, the Shanghai border inspection authorities have inspected over 6.08M Mainland residents traveling in and out of the country, averaging about 70k person-times per day.
