The death toll from the landslide in southern Ethiopia rises to 52.

According to a message released on the 12th by the local government of the Gammo District in Ethiopia’s Southern Region, consecutive days of rainfall have caused a landslide in the area, resulting in 52 deaths and multiple people missing. It is understood that a landslide occurred in the Gammo District on the night of the 10th, and as of now, 52 bodies of victims have been found, with another 50 people missing. The local government said the final number of deaths may exceed 100. Local officials said that floods and landslides caused by the heavy rain have affected transportation, increasing the difficulty of rescue efforts. (CCTV News)
