Laying hens inventory remains at a high level. As moulting hens gradually resume egg-laying, supply is somewhat loose. The Qingming holiday stock-up period is nearing its end; end-market procurement interest has declined, and on top of that, rainy weather has weighed down shipments. After the holiday, demand is soft, and it is expected that prices will continue to trade in a range and consolidate. Today, the average egg price in the main producing area of Shandong is 6.55 yuan/kg, down 0.38 from yesterday; Hebei’s average egg price is 6.54 yuan/kg, down 0.04 from yesterday; Guangdong’s average egg price is 6.87 yuan/kg, down 0.20 from yesterday; Beijing’s average egg price is 7.16 yuan/kg, unchanged from yesterday.
