I noticed something interesting while scrolling: everyone is talking about Carl Runefelt and his supposed wealth. "The Moon," it's true that the guy built an empire as a crypto influencer. Originally from Sweden, he started as a simple cashier before completely diving into crypto in 2017, right when everyone was rushing into Bitcoin. Since then, he’s gained millions of followers on YouTube and Instagram by talking about his crazy lifestyle — supercars, luxury vacations, the full package.

But here’s where it gets interesting. Carl Runefelt displays this wealth everywhere, but I wonder: is it real or is it marketing? Because in the influencer world, appearances can be completely deceiving. Supercars? Easy to rent for a few hours of filming. Crazy vacations? Sponsored or partnership deals. It’s a game we see a lot in the industry.

That said, we have to admit that Carl Runefelt probably accumulated real wealth. His income sources are quite diversified: YouTube and Instagram probably make him a lot with ads and sponsored content. Then there are his crypto investments — if he really bought Bitcoin early and held through the bull markets, that could be huge. Not to mention NFTs, crypto projects he’s associated with, and collaborations with brands. Partnerships with exchanges and crypto products generate quite a bit of additional income.

But here’s the thing: without confirmed figures or public financial disclosures, no one really knows. The estimates circulating talk about $2 million to $10 million, but that’s pure speculative calculation. And with the volatility of the crypto market, his net worth probably fluctuates constantly depending on Bitcoin’s price and other assets he holds.

Skepticism around Carl Runefelt is justified. Much of what we see could be a carefully crafted brand image rather than raw reality. Luxury items are easy to rent, associations with celebrities don’t necessarily reflect actual wealth. It’s an important reminder: in crypto and the influencer world, you need to stay critical. What shines isn’t always gold.

That said, the guy has clearly managed to position himself as a major figure in the crypto space, that’s undeniable. But for us, investors and observers, it’s essential not to take these displays of wealth at face value. Crypto is unpredictable, and influencers know very well how to create illusions. It’s up to you how you interpret all this.
