Iran says Basij militia commander killed in US-Israel attack

The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps confirmed on the 17th that a commander of the Iranian Basij militia organization, Soleimani, was killed in a “terrorist attack” jointly carried out by the United States and Israel. In a statement, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said that Soleimani was assassinated, showing that the Iranian Basij militia played an important role in full-scale fighting against the U.S. and Israeli forces and their mercenaries. On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a joint attack on Iran. Iran then launched multiple rounds of missile and drone strikes targeting Israel and U.S. assets and bases in the Middle East. (Xinhua News Agency)
