On March 27, SAIC Motor's first humanoid robot employee—"Nengzai No. 1"—officially started work on the Buick Zhijing E7 battery mass production line, handling core processes such as cell picking and material loading. This is SAIC Motor's first case of a humanoid robot truly integrated into a mass production line.This humanoid robot was jointly developed by SAIC General Motors and Zhiyuan Robotics. It features human-like capabilities such as visual perception, dual-arm coordination, and force-controlled grasping. It can independently recognize incoming battery cells, intelligently plan picking paths, and does not rely on fixed programming or precise positioning of incoming materials. (First Financial)

On March 27, SAIC Motor’s first human-shaped robotics employee—“Nengzai No. 1”—was officially deployed on the Buick to Jing E7 battery cell mass-production line, taking on core processes such as cell gripping and loading. This is SAIC Motor’s first real humanoid robot case that has been put into production line application.

The humanoid robot was jointly developed by SAIC-GM and Unitree Robotics. It features human-like capabilities such as visual perception, dual-arm coordination, and force-controlled gripping. It can autonomously handle tasks including incoming cell identification and intelligent planning of the gripping path, without relying on fixed programming or the precise positioning of incoming parts.
