UK Consumer Confidence Index Falls to Lowest Since January Last Year

On the 16th, S&P Global released a report stating that due to the conflict in the Middle East, the UK consumer confidence index dropped from 44.8 in February to 44.1 in March, reaching its lowest level since January 2025. The report also noted that British households’ pessimism regarding their financial prospects has reached its highest level since the end of 2023, and their caution regarding large expenditures has also reached its highest level since early 2025. Expectations among British households for recent interest rate cuts by the Bank of England have also declined. (CCTV News)
