Colgate Wins One, Loses Two Bids to Dismiss Kids’ Fluoride Cases

A federal district court has ruled that Colgate-Palmolive Co. cannot dismiss two lawsuits alleging deceptive advertising for fluoride-containing mouthwashes marketed as safe for young children. However, a similar case concerning toothpaste will be dismissed. The ruling was made by Judge Andrea R. Wood in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, addressing claims by parents that the company misled them regarding the safety of these products for children under six.
