On February 25, 2026, during German Chancellor Merz’s visit to China, NIO (NIO.US) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Bosch. NIO’s Executive Vice President and Chairman of the Quality Management Committee, Shen Feng, and Bosch Global Business Services President for the Asia-Pacific region and Bosch China Board Member, Shuma Yao, represented both parties in signing the agreement.

The cooperation will cover NIO’s three major brands—NIO, ONVO, and firefly—conducting in-depth collaboration in the core technology areas of smart electric vehicles. The cooperation will encompass core technologies such as steer-by-wire chassis and battery management, including braking control, steering systems, drive systems, as well as body electronics and perception modules.

The signing of this strategic cooperation agreement marks the continued deepening of collaborative innovation in key technologies of smart electric vehicles, further promoting complementary advantages in the industrial chain and high-quality development, aiding both China and Germany in reaching a higher level of cooperation in energy transition and high-end manufacturing, and continually contributing to global sustainable development and economic trade cooperation.
